Easter Message to Nigerians

The Honourable Minister of Health, Prof Isaac Adewole has admonished Nigerians especially Christians to cultivate and imbibe the spirit of love, sacrifice and tolerance which was physically displayed by Jesus Christ while on earth as they celebrate 2017 Easter.

“Like we know and read, the supreme and ultimate price of death exemplifies hope for Christians through Jesus Christ, a walk in the path of glory made manifest through discipline, patience and courage, it is indeed worthy of emulation by all and sundry. The teachings of our Saviour inspire us to live a life filled with truth, forgiveness and selfless service”

In a Press statement personally signed by him, “on this joyous occasion of Easter after the long suffering of 40days of fasting, he urged Christians to remain fervent in their supplications to God for our country, Nigeria and our dear President, Muhammadu Buhari for God’s direction and guidance as his strong will and uncompromising determination to restore the economic fortunes from recession, stabilize the security system by degrading the menace of insurgency and kidnapping, fight corruption to a standstill.

The country is on the part of growth and development in all facets, our support to this administration must not dwindle, we must remain adamant on our resolve to see a glorious and prosperous Nigeria in the spirit of love and sacrifice.

As a people, let’s us unite together to completely eradicate communicable disease, we must eschew uncleanliness, embrace healthy living which is a prerequisite to Godliness. We should dedicate ourselves in principle and attitude to medical advice in a bid to stay healthy. The unpleasant forecast of the outbreak of Cholera in the coming months should be a collective responsibility of all Nigerians through conscious sensitization and awareness, desist from conducts and habits that can bring sickness and catastrophic death into our society. We should report unpleasant conditions to appropriate medical authorities, visit our certified hospitals and avoid self medication. As a government, we are committed to the welfare and general well being of all Nigerians as our pursuit to bring effective and efficient healthcare delivery to our doorsteps with functional primary health care centres are yielding assuring dividends daily.

Finally, I extend best wishes and felicitations to all lovers of peace. Happy Easter Celebrations.
