And on into Turkey, for what I consider to be the best meal by far so far at Gokyuzu.

I was recommended this restaurant in Green Lanes by Timeout and 2Veg on entering, realised he had been here before.

And what a good choice it was. Lovely staff and a wonderful menu greeted us.

This time we realised that we could no longer handle a starter and main course, and a pudding , for lunch. Our bellies are getting bigger by the week. And here they filled us with fantastic bread and yoghurt dip. That filled me up before I had even started thinking about a main course.

All washed down with a couple bottles of the excellent Efes beer.

I ordered a lamb shish but quickly changed my mind when I saw what 2Veg was ordering and I went the lamb equivalent of Sarma Kuzu Beyti — look at that picture below. I only wish I had asked for a doggy bag as I struggled to eat this huge meal. It was fantastic and one I must go back to try again.

Completely stuffed, 2Veg insisted on ordering a small portion of Baclava, which I wouldnt even handle a waffer thin piece.
