To create sausages from scratch, you need only a few basic pantry items. There is no outer shell for this variant. These are the simplest of all possible options. Just throw everything in a bowl, form it into shapes, and bake.

Ingredients

  • You may combine ground pork with other ground meats, such as lean beef, chicken, or turkey.
  • Panko instead of breadcrumbs. Italian or standard breadcrumbs will suffice.
  • Egg — Use a large egg, as eggs are required to bond the ingredients.
  • Garlic to taste!
  • I substituted dried thyme. If using fresh, double the amount specified.
  • Fresh parsley is the best variety.
  • Season to taste with salt and pepper.
  • To cook sausages using olive oil. Also effective are canola, sunflower, safflower, and avocado oils.
