A True Icon — Wayne Rooney

Wayne Rooney is an English professional football manager and former player, born on October 24, 1985, in Liverpool, England.

He made his professional debut with his local club Everton at the age of 16, becoming the youngest goal scorer in Premier League history in his first season.

After two years at Everton, he transferred to Manchester United in 2004. In 2017, he returned to Everton before moving to D.C. United in 2018. In 2020, he joined Derby County as a player and coach, retiring from competitive play the following year and being named the manager of the team. However, he left Derby County in 2022 to become the manager of D.C. United.

Rooney has had a successful international career, scoring 53 goals in 120 appearances for the English national team. He retired from the national team in August 2017. Rooney has been a part of several major tournaments, such as the FIFA World Cup and the UEFA European Championship.

Throughout his career, Rooney has achieved numerous accolades, including being named England’s Player of the Year four times, winning the English Premier League five times, and the UEFA Champions League once. He has also been credited with the PFA Young Player of the Year award.
