The incident caused the pilot’s plane’s radar system to fail, knocking out the FLIR system, which detects infrared radiation.

The UFO incident, which has sparked intense curiosity among the public, has also drawn the attention of Florida Representative Matt Gaetz. Gaetz, a strong advocate for government transparency, was informed about the incident and commented on it during the Congressional Hearing on Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP) in July 2023.

Upon reviewing the case summary, Gaetz and Congressmen Burchett and Luna requested access to the evidence obtained by the plane’s crew, including the instrumental radar data and a meeting with the pilot. However, their initial denial of access to the crew, images, and radar data has only heightened the public’s demand for transparency.

According to a recent report, a US Navy pilot encountered an unidentified flying object (UFO) that he could not identify as any human-made technology or that of any known adversaries. The pilot reported seeing objects flying in a diamond formation on radar, which led him to the site, where he encountered a floating orb. Upon approaching the object, the pilot’s radar stopped working, and the aircraft’s FLIR camera system malfunctioned. The pilot managed to manually capture an image using one of the lenses that was not automatic. The report was later confirmed by the Department of Defense (DoD), who stated that they had received a UAP (Unidentified Aerial Phenomena) report from Eglin Air Force Base. The All Domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) possessed it.

According to the Air Force Office of Special Investigations spokesperson Linda Card, Representative Matt Gaetz received a classified briefing while visiting Eglin Air Force Base earlier this year. However, Card declined to provide any further information about the content of that briefing. She mentioned that the Air Force Office of Special Investigations (AFOSI) is currently reviewing the Eglin Air Force Base report and that the analysis is being prioritized. Once the information is authorized for public release, the findings will be published on the AFOSI website.

Representatives Tim Burchett and Anna Paulina Luna, both House Armed Services Committee members, were denied the opportunity to participate in a briefing by the DoD and the US Air Force, sparking a heated debate. The decision, which was met with strong opposition from the members of Congress, was justified because they were not part of the Intelligence Committee or the Armed Services Committee. This denial has further fueled the ongoing controversy surrounding the UFO incident.

When asked about the recent confirmation of the case in the Gulf of Mexico, Representative Luna expressed her lack of confidence in the DoD’s transparency. She stated that she hopes the DoD will not block the American people from accessing transparency, as they did to them earlier this year.
