Do I love you? Do I love you not?

Ever had a strange feeling, that you love a person so muchh that you can’t imagine a day without em? and then, that same day, you realize that it would’ve been better if that same person wouldn’t have been in your life? I feel it ALL. THE. TIME..

“It takes 9 months to build your heart, don’t let anyone break it in seconds” but what if, that person destroys it every microsecond? every minute. every hour. every day. every week. every year. and maybe, forever?

Old sayings and cliches have a deep impact on how we perceive the world.

“ aaj kal ka zamana, pura din apne phone se chipka rehte hai”

ever heard of this one? probably the most famous one as far as 21st century is concerned. This is what every parent’s silver-tongued on. like literally, every. It isn’t their fault tbh. Its their fault, those supposed “wise elders” who guide them that way. And even if those “wise elders” don’t say anything, trust me they’re planning on some evil conspiracy which might have the potential to ruin your life. and career. and basically everything.

“Only the strong survives.”

Well, as far as Indian parents are concerned, and an Indian is concerned, EVERY SINGLE SOUL YOU SEE ON THE STREETS is mostly part of the rat race. The strongs’ are classified as people who earn more than average, Who have a big mansion sorta home, a person who can provide his kids with all the luxuries they can dream of, their wife wearing new 24K gold jewelry every hour, and the husband coming to office in BMW class 5 series with two personal bodyguards. Sounds like Ambani right? well, parents train them to become doctors and engineers. They’ll earn a lot of course, but would they actually “live” and enjoy the only life they got? sounds like a uh uh no. The pressure they’ve been put under since 10th is more problematic than those algebra sums out there in the world. Even the Aunty who lives in the neighborhood can come up to you and ask “beta, bade ho ke kya ban na hai? doctor ya engineer?” *based on a true incident* Well, I’m lucky enough, that I’ve parents who understand the difference between “manufacturing” a child and actually making that child “understand”. Big difference, believe me.

“Something’s wrong with the computer, they blame you. Something is wrong with you, they blame the computer”

Doesn’t this phrase basically describe every damn problem related to your phones and computers? XD hell yeah!

You’re a girl.Not a human. A burden.

The list of what girls in India should and should not do only becomes longer and longer the older we become. Many of us have heard some version of this growing up — “Who asked you to talk? Don’t speak so loudly. Don’t laugh so loudly. Don’t draw attention to yourself. Sit like a girl. Dress like a girl. Behave like a girl. When we’re born, we’re either unwanted or a disappointment because we are seen as a burden to our families. Since we’re young, we’re taught to serve the men food first and then sit down to eat when they have finished, to speak only when spoken to, and to never draw attention to ourselves in any way because we could provoke someone to make a creepy comment or inappropriate gesture towards us. Sometimes we’re told that we don’t need an education like our brothers and we’re married off as children. Even when we are sent to school and taught the value of education, we’re told that our top-priority should be marriage when we’re in our 20s.

Thats for now XD if you like it, please do mail me on mahekbajaj03@gmail.com with feedbacks and comments! would hear to love everyone of you :)
