Race 52, July 2017 100 Miles Challenge
Race 52 completed and I’ve seriously have had to use strategy to get this one done. After 18 months, I’ve finally taken a holiday and travelled abroad and it’s been absolute bliss. The reason for this holiday is to celebrate the big milestone of turning 40. The best way I celebrated this event was by doing the Fortyby40 challenges and this holiday abroad was to spend time with my family and celebrate along with them. I turn 40 in August, in a month. We came in July as it’s my daughter’s summer holidays so we could take a big 2 week break. We are in Krabi, Thailand and its so tropical, hot and sunny and very different from London. I’ll get to the running part first and then share more of the trip. Running itself was quite uneventful as I’ve had to run the last 20 or so miles mainly on the treadmill as it’s too hot to run outside plus the facilities of running outside here are not too great. I have to say that I’m not a big fan of the dreadmill and seriously love running outside. Anyway this month’s challenge done and here are my Garmin stats:

Moving onto more exciting things that happened in these last 2 weeks in Karabi. Lots of exploration and activity (so glad there was activity to counter all the holiday eating!!). I’m only going to put photographs as they are so much better than me writing about the trip. I’m going to put my trip in sections:
Beach:

Rainforest and natural pools and hotsprings

Nature Trek:

Family:

Food:

A couple of me just for fun!

A great trip and a fulfilling way to celebrate my journey towards turning 40 – running and a great holiday abroad!
