Name: Amanda Barrios
Title: Training Manager
What are you guilty of?
If I told you, you’d have to kill me.
What was your last brush with danger?
Jay-walking in the streets of London. WHAT A RUSH!!!!
Your last brush with greatness?
I pet this incredible dog the other day. Suffice it to say, my day was made.
Your worst character fault?
If I’m watching a film at home I have two settings: talk throughout or nap throughout. Choose wisely.
Your most shining quality?
When I watch a film at the cinema, I pay careful attention not to crunch my popcorn too loudly so as to be a considerate film-goer.
You hear that world? Take note. You’re on the run from the law, where are you headed?
Probably not very far, I’m terrible at running.
Who’s your partner-in-crime?
Barnes Wheeler, HOD MTL Editorial — he’s stuck with me! Special mention to Perdita Carvil who always keeps me sane.
Jonathan van Ness of Queer Eye. If anyone could keep the pep in my step for whatever sentence I’m serving, I’m sure it’d be him.
Your greatest achievement?
I won second place in my local public speaking competition doing a speech on cows at the age of 12. Also, being promoted to Training Manager — YAY!
Most valuable skill?
I’m very punctual.
Go on, say something bragging:
I once managed to stay awake through an entire midnight screening of Batman: The Dark Knight. Without talking.
Name your vice.
Nail-biting and a nice glass of red wine.
And your pet peeve?
The DREAM project would entail:
Jeff Goldblum. In any capacity.
What’s your career highlight to date?
Finishing Mary Poppins Returns!
This week I learnt that:
If a snowflake has any more or any less than six sides, that snowflake is a LIE.
What’s your current view?
To my right, an industrial building and blue skies. Ahead, behind my two desk monitors I can see the top of our dear Marketing Manager, Christina Baron’s, head.
Give us a desk tour.
Left-handed bamboo Wacom, banana, a healthy stash of David’s Tea, and little figurines from the Legend of Zelda: Windwaker.
What do you need to work, on the daily?
My eight hours of sleep. No more, and certainly no less.
Framestore is, in three words:
The Bomb (dot) Com
What’s the best thing about your work environment?
Being surrounded by so much talent and creativity.
As a company, Framestore is great at…
Making people feel welcome and, as a studio, being a cut above the rest!
Let’s expand the mind: favourite artform?
And favourite image?
Any drawing that comes out of Telestrations will instantly become my new favourite image.
Fictional character you’d like to hang with?
Happiness looks like:
Warm weather, good food and even better company.
If not here, then where?
Spain, Japan, or Toronto.
What do you think of too often?
What exciting food will I have for lunch?
And not enough?
Did I leave the oven on?
Couldn’t live without:
Any music-listening device
If you ruled the world:
Everyone would have equal rights and puppies.
