Most people just aren’t willing to grind it out for four, five, six years at a time before they have the bylines and skill to make money at the gig. I wrote almost every day for three years or so — including at Bleacher Report, where I landed my first paid gig — before breaking through. To me, it’s akin to going to college. Except I didn’t end up with crushing debt.
