[Insight] Antiperspirants and deodorants alter your underarms bacteria, and maybe not for the better

Have you ever thought about the whole microbial community under your arms? Have you ever thought about how much your daily deodorant that helps you smell better, impact it? Research have shown that our willing to smell good is changing our underarms microbes. Those using deodorants and antiperspirants end up with a different microbial community than those who don’t.
Microbes also differ according the products we use. So far, it’s hard to make a difference between harmful and helpful microbial community. But as scientists state, one thing is sure: “Wearing a product does affect the microbes under your arm, but what those short and long-term consequences are, we don’t really know yet”.
