For many years, Sweden has been shifting toward a cashless system. The reasons for this are many: Swedish embracement of new technologies, the growth of mobile payment systems and a governmental fight against corruption, which helps citizens feel safe about digital money transactions. Yet, to the question: will Swedish kronor disappear?
Experts suggest not, that Sweden might never be entirely cash-free. Digital can’t be blamed for this. This is based on emotions: people will always be sentimentally tied to the country’s bank notes, even if they don’t to use them.
