Interview with Evgeny Glariantov, Co-Founder of FREED

How did you come up with the idea of making such a platform?

Back in the early 2000s, way back when we started making games. We faced the problem that users did not want to pay in games, but they wanted to have everything that paying-payers have. Even then we began to play around with different models of monetization for a non-paying part of the community. Two years ago, blockchain technology started to spread around and we finally came to understand how to make the game process free for everyone, and at the same time profitable for game developers making interesting games.

What is the difference between FREED concept for distributed computing and the others?

Since our platform is built on a fast growing community of gamers, FREED can gain huge computing power in a short time. Our concept, compared to others on the market, uses a unique motivation model based on gaming values. Within this model FREED can attract more gamers in a short time, and also keep the most competitive prices in the computing market.

What did you do before the FREED project?

At the age of 10, I got into programming. Since then, my life has been somehow connected with computer technology. After graduation, I started working in an IT company. And in 2000 my friends and I decided to start our own business. At first it was related to computer network solutions and websites. Later, I completely switched to creating computer games and Internet projects. In 2011, I was invited to CTC Media broadcasting company, where we built and developed the digital area of the holding. These 2 years of work in a large international corporation helped me a lot in the future, when I started expanding my company TVX Games on the international market.

We know that you have already managed to attract investment for this project. Tell us more about this!

Yes, indeed we managed to attract a part of the investment by holding an ICO (the second round of tokensale is happening now). I must admit, it turned out to be much more complicated and demanding than it seemed at first. However, in the meantime we managed to catch the interest of players, game developers and HPC customers, as well as significantly strengthen our team and the quality of our product.

How did you come up to the conclusion that you needed to hold an ICO?

We began to develop our project 2 years ago at our own expense. But pretty soon we realized that in order to gain a significant market share, we need additional investment and started negotiations with large investors. However, due to the ICO boom and the fact that we originally built the project using blockchain technology led us to try to attract investments through an ICO.

What functions will FREEDcoin token perform in the system?

Platform participants will use token as a means of payment for interaction with each other. HPC customers will buy a token on the exchange to pay for the computing power provided by game projects ‘developers. The token-sale will be limited, and will be conducted only during the ICO. Demand for them will constantly increase due to the growing number of users of the platform, which will ensure a constant increase in the cost of the token itself.

When is the the launch of the FREED platform?

FREED has already been integrated into 2 of our own game projects, and the closed beta stage is on right now. In the next few weeks, we will open platform testing in these games for all users.

How will the customer base be increased?

Currently, we have preliminary and signed agreements with several major game publishers in Russia and Asia. We have several dozen requests to connect to our system from small developers. Also we are negotiating with social networks about connecting FREED as a tool for monetizing social-network games.
