Ecole Jean-Jacques Rousseau Alumni Program

Backed by over three decades of experience in education, curriculum development, and bilingual education, the Louali family, Dr. Hind Louali and Sonia and Mohammed Louali, opened the The French School of Austin, also known as Ecole Jean Jacques Rousseau, in 2005. The French School of Austin/Ecole Jean Jacques Rousseau (EJJR) offers children from preschool to grade 8 a traditional curriculum guided by the French Ministry of Education model.

To support former students in the continued development of their French language skills, EJJR offers the Middle School alumni program (MSP), where students in grade 7 and up can attend at least 2 hours of classes per week with a qualified French language arts teacher. The program is designed for relatively recent students. However, children with larger gaps in their French instruction can take a test to determine eligibility.

All participants must pass a French diagnostic evaluation to move on to the next grade level. Students enrolled in over 3 hours of weekly lessons can elect to take French literature, geometry, history and other core subjects.
