Students connect with campus on new FAN Club app

By MARISA MATA, Student Writer

The Bulldog Future Alumni Network (FAN) Club launched at Dog Days this summer. The FAN Club, developed by Amanda Hall, Program Coordinator for the Bulldog FAN Club, and Blair Smittcamp, former Program Coordinator of Student and Young Alumni Engagement, values engagement, networking and philanthropy.

“The Bulldog FAN Club is designed to enrich student’s connections to their campus through traditions and events at Fresno State while teaching the importance of philanthropy and what it means to give back,” Hall said.

At Dog Days, incoming students are told about the FAN Club app (available on both Apple and Android), which offers student discounts, a campus map and ways for students to get engaged with and on campus, such as social media channels and traditions to take part in. They then have the opportunity to download the app and complete their first tradition, taking a photo with Victor E. Bulldog. The app also encourages student philanthropy.

“We also want to educate students on philanthropy and why it’s important to give back,” said Hall. “We’ll be at Traditions Day, on August 23, giving free ice cream to students who’ve downloaded the app. And students who make a $10 donation will receive a cell phone case, Fresno State piggy bank and will join the 275 Fresno State students who have become student donors within the last year.”

Download the Fresno State Bulldog FAN Club app to connect, or follow on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
