Have You Seen “Chef”? A Sign of Things To Come!
I just listened to a podcast episode of the Tim show, starring Jon Favreau — the actor in and director of all three Iron Man movies.
I have to say, if you haven’t heard it, or if you don’t know who Tim Ferriss, or Jon Favreau are:
("The laughter doesn't last if there is no story. Story is king. You think it's about the laughs, but, really, it's…fourhourworkweek.com
Jon Favreau is indeed the filmmaker behind hit films Swingers, Chef, and as of recently The Jungle Book remake.
Yes, he’s achieved things like Best Director at the Saturn Awards 2 years in a row for Iron Man. But, I want to tell you about his latest film Chef, about a boy and his dad who set-out on a cross-country road trip with a food truck.
Quick summary from IMBD:
“Carl Casper is an acclaimed chef with a family life that seems as decaying as his artistic freedom. Those frustrations boil over into a raucous viral-videoed public confrontation against a restaurant critic who panned his cooking of food that his boss ordered him to make against his instincts. Now with his career ruined, Carl’s ex-wife offers an unorthodox solution in Miami: refit an old food truck to offer quality cooking on his own terms. Now with his young son, Percy, and old colleague, Martin, helping, Carl takes a working trip across America with that truck to rediscover his gastronomic passion. With Percy’s tech savvy and Martin’s enthusiasm, Carl finds that he is creating a traveling sensation on the way home. In doing so, Carl discovers he is serving up more than simply food, but also a deeper connection with his life and his family that is truly delicious in its own way.”
Up to speed? Great.
A little cheesy in how it was written, I know. But, go and see the film.

But, this movie has a lot to do with my next big move, which is coming pretty soon.
I am super excited about this.
Full Belly LA is going to start off as a restaurant/food truck/food fest review website, and videography start-up, where I do walk-throughs, tours, and interviews of the organizers, cooks, participants, and spectators of everything listed above.
That’s just the beginning.
When I came up with the idea, it was simply to merge my love for video, and an attempt to get back into cooking, and the restaurant scene in Los Angeles.
Then, I had the idea for a Full Belly LA Food Truck, Full Belly LA Restaurant, Full Belly Farms, and finally the best idea I’ve ever had…Full Belly LA Food Pantry.
I know that’s a lot, but you need to have a goal. You need to know where you want to go to actually get there.
This is where I want to be, and what I want this idea to blossom into.
Los Angeles leads the country in people suffering from hunger and “food insecurity” — basically, mom and/or dad are going to bed hungry so the kids can at least eat dinner type-thing. We live in abundance in this country, and too many people are food scarce, where our largest abundance is food.
I was put on this earth to help people. No one says you can’t help people and do what you love. With this idea, it absolutely accomplishes all of this.
I have high hopes for the future, and I hope you will join me.
