Why SEO Will Always be King

Every single thing is shifting to mobile. New apps are being created for anything you could ever imagine and websites that are not currently mobile responsive are being dropped because of Google’s latest algorithm which can only damage your once excellent SEO ranking. Web and app developers are caught in the middle of which is more important and able to provide a more promising future for a business’ future online: the website or the app.

There is an app for everything. You can find an app to provide you a flashlight on your phone or show you the local traffic in Utah. Once you download an app, you realize that one app just simply isn’t enough. You will need to get an app for each of your devices including your phone, tablet and laptop which can be expensive. Apps constantly need to be updated so that they are supported by your device and then ultimately you end up deleting them because you ran out of storage.

The web and SEO, on the other hand, won’t be going anywhere. People generally enjoy a more human-like experience. With good SEO, a company is able to provide their customers with better results of what they are looking for. A customer can see reviews, find directions, see their other locations in Utah and links to their social media profiles all through their website if they have good SEO.

Most web searches come from a mobile device of some kind. Mobile apps are limiting in what the customer is able to find. Finding directions in Utah on an app only allows for the person to simply find directions, whereas searching online can show them traffic patterns and any updates they may need.

SEO also provides comparison between other companies. The consumer can look at what the two companies have to offer and then choose which one they find better suited for them. An app for a ski resort in Utah does not provide competitive information thus blinding the customer to what they could really have.

SEO will always be more important than apps because it shows how companies stack up against each other. People enjoy comparing what is offered to them and an app limits that ability to pick what is better suited for them. Websites are also transitioning to be better utilized on mobile devices making it that much easier for people to search the web from their phones.
