Georgia Early Voting: Week 1

This past Monday, the early voting period began in Georgia. Across the state, Georgia Democrats headed to the polls to lock in their vote, and then help others do the same.

Sunday, actress Danai Gurira (Michonne from The Walking Dead) stopped by to rally the troops and encourage everyone to vote early.

Monday October 17 was the first day of early voting in Georgia.

Monday, Rep. John Lewis and Fulton County Chair John Eaves led a Millennial March to the polls.
Also on Monday, Congressman Hank Johnson and DeKalb Commissioner Mereda Johnson held an early vote event in DeKalb County.

Tuesday, October 18th, Chairman DuBose Porter stopped by the Macon field office to stress the importance of early voting…

Wednesday, October 19th — In honor of the 19th Amendment, we launched our Georgia Women Vote Together Day of Action. We asked women to vote with other Georgia women and post scenes from the day using #EarlyVotesforWomen.

Part of our Women’s Day of Action celebration was tuning in to support Hillary Clinton at the final presidential debate at watch parties throughout the state.

Thursday, October 20th, Rev. Jesse Jackson held a round-table discussion at Georgia Tech with student leaders to speak to the value and importance of voting.

Friday, October 23rd, Nightline profiled our Savannah field office, including Regional Field Director Justin Pitts and Field Organizer Kathryn Alexis.

Saturday, October 22nd, Georgia Democrats headed to Savannah Pride…
