To Live with an Undefended Heart

Sitting with that not just one thing
It’s huge
Is crazy inviting

All the time
Interact with the world
Look back in retrospect
What was the driver?
I got mine

Get further into looking at it
Be the lone voice
Go collect all the feathers
It’s difficult sometimes to maintain
There’s no give
It’s rigid
It gets hot in summer

Rising by things you’re seeing
Stay in touch
The gossip of the well
Avoid the creation of the world
and of the sea

Things that need to be said but scary
Part of the beauty is we begin to recognize
how those stories change
Wearing the world as a loose garment
