Fish Tale

The girl who grew a fish tail
started out like you and me
She had two supple legs
quite beautiful to see

She could not pass by water
without venturing for a dip
And then one day to her surprise
she was a mermaid from her hips

She could not walk so flapped a bit
beneath the dazzling stinging sun
She crawled right back to the water’s edge
and dove in for maritime fun
