Coffee with a Street

Some places, adorned by their history
Cherish it with such pride even centuries down the line
Where each street, each building, each bridge, each turn, each window, each fountain and even the underground
Makes you feel as if they were not structures but stories you were walking by

You look at them and can somehow stand there just watching them as hours pass by
Like a little kid in a library, smitten by stories designed as a Disney book ride
In rapt concentration, you listen to those classics,
The tales which are spoken and carried in the breeze or rain enveloping each passerby

They capture your heart and mind in so many different ways; some stare, some tell, some frown, some play hide and seek, some even sing so fine
It is just amazing how it makes you live so many ages, moods and facets all at the very same time

If you want to not just read or hear
But also live a story as your imagination wakes
Pause and make sure you stay
There are places where buildings do talk and play
To one who waits and seeks, sees the passion with which they wave
That’s how conversations warm-up
To turn into friendships so rare

It makes you come back again and again
There is just so much magic, what can I say
A sheer treat to the soul’s eyes
These are my favourite streets,
so ancient yet so live!
