Praying in the Morning
8:45 AM- 2/12/16
So, how do you pray in the morning? Or where? I guess I we grow a little older- at least in my experience, I become more spiritual. Is it because I have more to loose now? I have 5 beautiful kids and I can’t imagine them hurt in anyway. So I pray hoping that the situations that are out of my hands will be taken care of by someone or some force bigger than me.
I used to pray at night, for a good night sleep; so I can wake up in the morning and get me through the day. 5 minutes tops! Now I find myself praying for 30 to 40 minutes everyday. The best time is when I’m driving to work. I can talk loud, clear my mind- ask for forgiveness, favors and protection for me and my family. Most of the time I caught myself praying for almost everyone in the whole world. I don’t know- do I feel pressured to pray for all? No, I just feel like if I include everyone- the ‘forces’ would hear it and somehow make the world a better place for one day. Then tomorrow I will pray again, and the same thing will happen!
This is my order of prayer:

- One or two praise and/ or worship songs (3–6 minutes)
- ‘Thanksgiving’ for the blessings given to the family… (4 minutes)
- Prayer for protection (each of my kids) 3 minutes each- their busses and bus drivers; school; school grounds; teachers; service workers; school fields…
- My husband, his work, workplace and the commute. (3 minutes)
- My house and my household- includes everyone that lives with us; our neighborhood (2 minutes)
- Relatives and friends all over the world, priests, pastors, men and women of God; military and service men and women all over the world… (2 minutes)
- The suffering and the poor, especially children- all over the world. (2 minutes)
- Everyone else… (3–5 minutes)
When I’m done- I feel that I have accomplished my task for the morning, then I can get me a coffee!
