GRUNTo Esports Sign Overwatch Contenders League Team Chicken Contendies
GRUNTo takes first step into Tier two Esports scene

GRUNTo Esports has signed Contenders team Chicken Contendies and its academy team, Chicken Contendies academy. Chicken Contendies have agreed to a short-term contract and will be representing GRUNTo Esports in the Contenders League for season two, 2019. GRUNTo traditionally fields teams consisting of all veterans, but this is their second venture into larger, more competitive teams.
2019 marked the beginning of Chicken Contendies’ career in the Contenders League. After qualifying through trials with a third-place finish, CC proceeded to place 5th in the season one round robin and lose to the runner-up, Gladiators Legion, in the playoffs. CC has since brought on ex-London Spitfire main tank, Jang-hyeon “TiZi” Hwang and ex-Mayhem Academy flex DPS, Cameron “Wub” Johnson onto the starting lineup and Alex “byZenith” Ames as head coach in preparation for season two. GRUNTo Overwatch division manager Ken “sp0rk” McGaffey is confident in the changes. “The roster for season two is looking strong, especially in the NA East region. With a promising debut in season one, the team has the potential to make a deep run at the Gauntlet later this year.”
