As part of the GBX’s continuing commitment to promote industry-leading standards, Targ Patience, the GSX Group Chief Compliance Officer, spoke on a panel at the RegTech Summit, organised by A-Team Group. The summit brought together a wide range of practitioners in the community, currently managing regulatory change and implementing RegTech solutions.
A RegTech Panel
During the event, Targ spoke on the panel titled ‘Fighting Financial Crime, Improving AML and KYC’ joining Anu Ratan, Senior AML Policy and Advisory Practitioner, and Aoife Harney, Regulatory Consultant at Fenergo. The panel was moderated by Denisse Rudich, Director; AML, CTF, Sanctions, ABC, Tax Evasion Specialist with FireDrake Consulting.
Targ commented on ‘digital identities’ during the panel, saying:
“There is a lot of activity in the market to establish ‘digital identities’, whereby an individual can be pre-screened for KYC, AML and CFT controls. It’s critical that there is collaboration on these initiatives and a move towards common standards so that regulatory requirements can be met. User experience is a driving force in the digital economy, and that needs to be matched with adequate, consistent controls.”
