I didn’t do a direct skills assessment on digital communication, although it was something that I explored during the initial first-round conversation. A direct skills assessment would definitely be worth considering in this context.
I didn’t do any social media/online searches on the candidates. That wasn’t really a conscious decision, but on reflection I guess I didn’t really see that as giving me much insight into whether the candidates were a good fit or not. It’s a debatable point though, obviously.
