Realising You Suck at Design
Cassius Kiani

Great read, and I feel great advice for those just starting out.

Taste is an interesting point, but the real difficulty creeps in when you’re not designing to your own. This is unavoidable in the industry and you might feel like you have to unlearn some things and find others disagreeing with what your idea of ‘good design’ is.

At some point you will need to change your mindset to align to others’ tastes, meeting their objectives and user goals. However, it shouldn’t be seen as a setback. Don’t be disheartened if the outcome isn’t quite what you had in mind.

Compromise is part of the learning process and will make you a stronger designer.
