Galen L Stone Was A Family Therapist In Charles Hayden Goodwill Inn School For Two Years

Galen L Stone has worked at Charles Hayden Goodwill Inn School as a Family Therapist for two years. He served this role from 1991 to 1993, and provided family and individual therapy to DYS and DSS youths as well as families.

While serving as a Family Therapist, Galen L Stone also co-led sex offender group treatment program for emotionally disturbed adolescent boys in a residential setting. As a co-leader of this program, he supervised the staff and therapeutic groups, including anger management, life skills, behavioral skills, substance abuse, dialectic behavioral treatment and family therapy.

Before joining Charles Hayden Goodwill Inn School, Galen L Stone worked at The Boys and Girls Clubs of Boston, Inc. as the Coordinator of the Boston Youth Education Fund and the Director of Education. Galen has also performed many researches, including Alumnae Study of BCGSSW graduates since 1947, when the school was founded (Jan-May 1984), and Senior Independent Study Thesis: “Boys’ Village Follow-Up Study.” (1977–1978).

Galen has great interest in sports and is a former secondary, college, club and semi-pro lacrosse player. He has also coached Needham and Newton Box and Field teams for many years. Other than sports, he enjoys fishing, scuba diving, singing, dancing, and traveling.
