Standardization is crushing UX

My sole concern is that new UX experiences are designed from the user inward. All too often, a developer is tasked with UX design with disastrous results…this is frequently the reason for rigid UX standards. I have engaged UX design firms twice to determine usages patterns for new applications. Both times, the apps were met with critical acclaim from users. This is where I shamelessly plug Electronic Ink, a terrific design firm on Philadelphia. A great example of a firm that “gets” pushing the UX frontiers.
