“A game is a series of interesting choices.”

– Sid Meier

QnA

  • How long did you take to understand the rules? 2–3 first attempts
  • Is it Interactive, Immersive and Interesting? It is interactive but it’s not immersive as both players don’t play
  • Is result interesting? Not quite!
  • Is gameplay long? The game is replayed so depends on the code and luck.
  • Does every player have a fair chance? Yes!
  • how long did you take to start the game? Barely any time.

Original Approach

No. of players: 2

Rules and Setup

The two players are given the role of either coder or decoder.

The coder creates a code with the given coloured pins while the decoder tried to decode the code using various sequences. Simultaneously the decoder keeps giving hints to help through a set of his own b/w pins.

Aim to Redesign

  • The game was interactive oy for the decoder. While the other player might get bored.
  • Gameplay could turn out to be long.

Redesign

The board has been redesigned to include an option where the coder gets to change their code along the gameplay.

The coder can change their initial code while the decoder has 8 chances to guess the code while the coder has 4 chances to change it.Once every two guesses.

Everytime they change their code, they change the earlier hints as well to suit the current code!
