2021 is the first year that Meta Universe stepped into the spotlight. In October of this year, Zuckerberg, the founder and CEO of the social media Facebook, announced that Facebook has changed its name to Meta. The new company name includes a vision for the future: Metaverse, which combines virtual reality, augmented reality and other advanced technologies

In fact, Zuckerberg did make up his mind to enter the meta-universe earlier. Back in 2014, Zuckerberg was not immersed in the fruits of victory as a leading social media. Instead, he was looking for new projects for development and investment.
His next goal is Oculus VR, the virtual reality technology development company that known as Quest, which launched its headset in 2019, and Facebook agreed to 2 billion U.S. dollars in cash and Facebook stock to acquire Oculus VR.

Oculus was founded by Palmer Freeman Luckey and Brendan Iribe. Their first product was the Oculus Rift, a realistic virtual reality head-mounted display that is now available on the market.
The Oculus Rift went on sale for pre-orders on September 26, 2012, on Oculus’s website, selling units every four to five minutes on the first day, and the heat continued for a week.

Although the launch of first commercial Oculus Rift was successful, it did not cause a global sensation, and Oculus continues to work hard on the development of the next new, advanced and breakthrough headset virtual reality device
The success of the first device attracted many major manufacturers to join, the second product was jointly developed by Oculus, Qualcomm and Xiaomi. It was announced as Oculus Go in October 2017, and went on sale in May 2018.
The third product, the Oculus Quest, followed by the Oculus Go, was launched in May 2019, followed by the more up-to-date Oculus Quest 2, which went on sale in October 2020 and was sold in two versions, 64GB and an upgraded 128GB.

He attended a community college course when he was 14 or 15 years old. In 2009, he set up the ModRetroForums to discuss and modify game consoles and personal old computer hardware. He once studied journalism at California State University Long Beach. Served as the online editor of a student-run newspaper “Daily 49er” during the school.
Palmer spent his spare time between the ages of 11 and 16 experimenting with various high-voltage research, including coil cannons, Tesla coils and lasers, and spent tens of thousands of dollars building a computer with a complex six-display setup
He has earned at least $36,000 to support his own research through his skills in 3C products, repairing and reselling broken iPhones, working as a sailboat instructor, and repairing boats.
He is highly interested in virtual reality and has a large private collection of over 50 head-mounted dangers, some of which he acquired at auctions for less price with the money he has earned.
Brendan was born and raised in Maryland, and majored in computer science in college and dropped out after 2 semesters to become a freelance programmer, working with Palmer in 2012 to invent and sell the Oculus Rif product.
