A new partnership with the Detroit Pistons was announced on Monday, bringing GameOn’s industry-leading chat solution to one of the league’s oldest and most storied franchises. Conversational chat has arrived in the Motor City, and GameOn is primed to save the Pistons front office staff valuable time and money, all while helping the franchise deepen its relationship with fans in Detroit and beyond.

A Solution for the Team & Their Fans

Thanks in large part to the Isiah Thomas-led teams that won back-to-back championships the late-80s and early 1990s, and the star-studded teams of the early 2000s, the Pistons have cultivated one of the most passionate fanbases in the league. The opening of Little Caesars Arena in 2017 gave the franchise a state-of-the-art new home and energized their fans at a time when attendance was in decline. With a new arena, ticket sales on the rise, and some of the most exciting young players in the league, the Pistons front office turned to GameOn to enhance their digital fan experience.

“We’re thrilled to be working with the Pistons on its fan experience transformation,” said GameOn CEO Alex Beckman. “As a platform that is built specifically for the needs of the franchise, it is a win-win for the Pistons staff and fans.”

This innovative new partnership brings GameOn’s world-class chat experience directly to Pistons fans through the team’s website and the Detroit Pistons mobile app. The primary focus of the chat experience is on game day logistics, ticketing, and the in-person experience at Little Caesars Arena. Pistons fans now have unprecedented access to their favorite team, and can instantly get information about everything from buying tickets to game highlights, team apparel, roster details, and much more — inquiries that would have previously been handled directly by staff members.

“Nearly 70% of the questions we receive relate to ticketing, stadium and gameday logistics — all of which historically have been addressed by reaching out directly to our sales and service teams,” said Adam Falkson, the Pistons’ Vice President of Business Intelligence. “GameOn allowed us to free up time for our personnel to tackle other business needs while remaining confident that our fans will continue to receive superior, real-time support.”

Building Our NBA Roster

The Pistons are the 7th NBA franchise to formally partner with GameOn Technology, joining a list that includes the Atlanta Hawks, Houston Rockets, Indiana Pacers, Milwaukee Bucks, Philadelphia 76ers, Sacramento Kings. As a trusted chat solution for these franchise partners, GameOn continues to offer immense value for both these teams and their fans.

As our NBA partners can attest, chat platforms are no longer a nice-to-have, but a necessity for teams to quickly and efficiently engage with fans and consumers. GameOn ensures that the needs of every team are met through a flexible, unique and responsive chat experience capable of driving business value through personalized fan engagement.
