I thought I was being clever when I stood in the stands of Camp Randall on graduation day, pulled my phone out, snapped a picture of all the students graduating and tweeted, “How much accumulated debt is standing down there?”

It didn’t take long for someone to tweet back what I’ll always remember.

Even the fact you can complain to someone else who also paid an outrageous amount to a university… that’s a connection too.

Diploma, questionably worth it.

Social capital, without a doubt, worth it.
