Having worked on predominantly agile projects, I have come to realise that at times of an uncertain priority or the need to make a decision it’s always beneficial to return to the original agile manifesto (I personally think these are forgotten often).

I love the way it is written using ‘over’ as the word itself allows you to make a distinction between what’s critical and whats important. This makes prioritisation easier and allows you to reason the decision based on those facts.

I wanted to come up with my own manifesto to follow throughout this project. Like all things this will likely evolve, but here is V1, and I will review this to see how its working for me around the middle of March.

Making an impact over getting a good grade

Hypothesis’ and results over ‘big bang’ guesses

Target the majority over the minority

Dissertation work over going to pub
