Isn’t the mission like…right there in the header? I’m not in the editors’ club. I’m just an outsider. I can’t imagine them having a completely different vision that this. I can’t imagine that there’s a secret room of curators laying perfect edits and Instagram filters over the words of others.

I get that you didn’t feel you fit there. I do. Spelling and grammar drive me nuts, too. I try to fix my own mistakes before hitting that button. I wish others would, too. I understand that some people, even and especially some of those with the most prolific stories to share don’t. Or can’t. They lack the lens that you have. They are dyslexic. They aren’t quite the efficient wordsmiths that we’d prefer. But we shouldn’t silence them because their words come out differently.

And I believe that’s the point of this pub, reduced succinctly to its little subtitle, to its little description. Perfectly imperfect. I hope that we can learn to look past this. I adore you as a writer. I respect what you have to say, I do. Please just understand that your words here have the potential to silence others, that’s all.
