Tea is central to my bedtime ritual. When the littles are settled and each reading in their own beds, I make my tea. While it’s steeping, I turn down my blankets, select a formidable book to serve as a coaster (right now Wendy Shanker’s The Fat Girl’s Guide to Life), and place my tea lightly atop it on my husband’s side of the bed.
He’s usually not there until morning, and that tea keeps me company while I consume the next chapters waiting faithfully on my nightstand. It fills me with gratitude for today and hope for tomorrow.
Bag in or out…make your ritual your own.
