In my opinion they deserve their role and power, simply because the other side is trying to reach agreements, but is not willing to actually fund/build an alternative development team. I don’t cry about free work from the Core team, they deserve thanks from the community, but not blind following.
Crypto is cold blooded economics. It has to be, since social pressure/ ethical behavior can’t be enforced in a financially incentive driven, anonymous online environment.
