“I have nothing to hide. Why should I care about my privacy?”
Fábio Esteves

I really enjoyed your piece, and find myself in broad agreement — which is probably why I joined the EFF on November 9th. However, your assertion that our current understanding of privacy as a concept is a hard fought right is a little inaccurate. Privacy (and the Public/Private dichotomy), has a long and varied history, meaning that the redefinition of what is/should be considered “private” has happened multiple times, not the last of which is our current reframing. I recommend the works of Wientraub on this issue, as you clearly have an interest in the subject, and he does a good job of laying out the prior ground. Keep up the good work.
