Why is it that whenever someone has a bad day, everyone seems to point out to that person that “it looks like you’re having a bad day.” It bothers me that instead of focusing on the good days one might have, people tend to only notice the bad ones. How many people have came up to you on a normal day and said “Wow, you look really happy and nice today!” Compare that number to the number of times you’ve heard “Wow, you seem grumpy”, or “Jeez, what’s the matter with you” on one of your bad days. The negative comments seem way higher than the neautral ones, at least for me. The last thing someone wants to hear on a bad day is someone they don’t know, or worse even a friend, saying how miserable they look. That person knows he looks miserable, probably because his day sucked! If everyone just changed their approach to that person, I feel like the world would be a better place. Next time you see someone who seems down in the dumps, don’t harp on them about how bad they look; instead, buy them a coffee, talk about last night’s game, try to make their day better.
