Work Continues Through a Winter Closure
When classes are cancelled due to ice and snow, there is a core group of dedicated staff who keep things running smoothly.

Although campus shut down at noon, the men and women working in Georgia Tech Dining facilities stayed beyond closure to keep hungry students fed.

Behind the scenes, Georgia Tech Dining administrators help handle the logistics of continued service in the wake of winter weather.

From Tech Square to Tenth Street, staffers from both Parking & Transportation Services and Georgia Tech Facilities have been working overtime to make sure that roads and sidewalks are safe.

That includes spreading brine solution and ice melt in high-traffic areas. These men and women will make sure that buses are running for as long as weather conditions allow and will be on hand in case of emergency.

Many of these Georgia Tech staff members will stay overnight, and perhaps the entire weekend.

Georgia Tech’s Campus Recreation Center will remain open normal operating hours, and typically does even during the worst weather situations. They will provide a place for staff members to get a warm shower and even cots and sleeping blankets if that need arises.

Not only are full-time staff members helping keep the massive facility up and running, many student workers have answered the call to help maintain full service.
To everyone working overtime to keep our campus safe and sound, we appreciate everything you do!
