My Demon: Episode 7 & 8 Review
Episode 7 of My Demon started with the continuation of the previous episode where both Do Do-Hee and Gu-won were following Do Kyung suspecting him to be the mastermind behind all the attacks happened so far. While following Kyung both got stuck in a situation and ended up sharing a brief kiss to avoid being caught red-handed. The special moment got saved with perfect clicks in the booth which Gu-Won secured them safely.
Episode 7 titled “Strained Relationship” began where both Do Do-Hee and Demon Gu Won were shown debating how his powers again acting up and not working properly while both were stuck in the booth. Gu-Won suggested Do-Hee is the problem because whenever she is around his powers start acting up. Gu Won’s butler Bok Gyu brought his Mater’s centuries-old collected almost entire world luggage packed to his and Do-Hee house. Gu-Won's Luggage shifting was quite a scene with every inch and corner of the house getting occupied with boxes to even stand properly ending up with Gu-Won and the entire luggage shown exit door of the apartment. In the meantime, Joo gets suspicious of Gu-Won leading to both having a conversation where the latter gets a warning of serious repercussions if anything bad happens to Do Do-Hee and will be watched. Later Do-Hee and Gu-Won were shown sharing the same bed while Gu-Won Recharged himself talking about how uncomfortable and unable to sleep to waking up the next day together awkwardly. On the other hand, the disguised man attacked DO-Hee multiple times entered Gu-Won's office stole Demon's handbook placed a voice recording device under his table, to later finding out about Demon’s secret powers. Madam Ju’s family plotted against Do-Hee and got her arrested for Madam Ju’s murder. The episode ended on a shocking note when Gu-Won got stabbed by the disguised murderer while he was running leaving his event press conference in the middle after receiving Do-Hee’s arrest news.
Episode 8 “The Fateful Choice” begun with the scene where the disguised murderer stabbed Gu-Won and was about to rip his heart into two parts when Gu-Won’s butler came running at the last moment to save him making the disguised murderer ran away showing his real face behind his masked face. Do-Hee being detained in the police custody got news about Gu-Won came running to the hospital with Joo Seok while Doctor told that Gu-Won would not survive till night. Do-Hee tried to bring back Gu-Won to senses putting his hand on her tattoo to heal him crying bad thinking he is dying because she was unable to reach on time. Moments later Gu-Won dramatically opened his eyes saying she is too heavy for him to carry her weight. Do-Hee went back to custody in disguise while waiting for her arrest warrant to get canceled the next day. Gu-Won got scared while dreaming of himself burning down. Wild Dogs gang who officially made Gu-Won their Boss came to visit him. Gu-Won went back home with Do-Hee asking for more and faster charging with closer space and proximity to which Do-Hee hugged him and both shared a quite romantic night sleep while hugging and recharging each other. The next day once again Gu-Won remembered himself burning down while cutting cake in the office which left him disturbed. Meanwhile, Star Jin visited Do Do-Hee in her office telling her to stop being selfish and using Gu-Won for her fights putting his life in danger. Star Jin also questioned Gu-Won upon meeting him about his changing feelings for Do Do-Hee and how he is choosing to be a weak human making him lose his powers slowly. Do Do-Hee decided to withdraw from the Chairwoman candidacy after Gu-Won’s incident to keep him safe and alive from further such incidents. Later Do-Hee was shown sitting in Madam Ju's garden asking her for her forgiveness for not fighting back and claiming her Chairwoman post in the meantime Gu-Won entered the garden questioning why she withdrew from candidacy to assure her to Do What’s Best for you even if it costs his own Life and reassured her with a kiss and here at this moment both Do-Hee and Gu-Won shared their First Romantic kiss while soaking under garden sprinkler adding more beauty and intensity to the romantic scene.
Episode 8 of My Demon concluded the First half of the show with a recap of the day when Do-Hee Gu-Won met each other for the first time saving her multiple times became her bodyguard got married to each other signing a mutually agreed contract. The pace of episodes were well balanced without unnecessary drag with an element of surprise coming to you with unexpected turn of events and their outcomes. The execution of scenes is so far really good which is a plus point for me. The extra detailing adds beauty and intensity to the scenes like when Gu-Won got stabbed his wedding ring got soaked in blood with stones turning red while Do Do-Hee being detained holding her wedding ring getting restless. The slow-mo effect of water sprinkles while both sharing their first kiss added beauty and intensity to the moment. Now that the first half i.e. first eight episodes of My Demon concluded with the right serve I am looking forward to the next half i.e. the remaining eight episodes and how this series gonna conclude starting from episodes 9 and 10 this weekend.
