Let me just put this out there. I am not good at writing, but I enjoy writing and instead of my brain thinking of ideas on ideas on ideas, I am actually going to execute this one, not worried about the consequences.

It has been a minute since I started playing this game. It is different from previous iterations in terms of gameplay, story, and characters. I intend to write about this in parts. Just write about the random stuff I did, how it has been going for me, et al.

The game first starts off in 2001, when after a bit of a backstory of Arakawa-san, learning the new game system (this is the first Yakuza game to implement turn-based RPG game mechanics), and introduced to some of the players in the game, we arrive at the part where Arakawa-san forces (“gently”) Kasuga-san to confess to a murder he did not commit, but in order to protect the Clan, he happily (not really) agrees to go to jail for murder, but not before having handful of beef bowls.

Fast forward 18 years, and Kasuga-san is out of prison. No one from the family is outside the jail to meet him, but instead, he finds an ex-cop, Adachi-san, who cautions him to not go to Kamurocho because there is nothing there for him, and instead head for Yokohama. He goes ahead to meet the boss anyway, but was not granted an audience. Adachi-san tries to explain to him that Arakawa-san defected to the Omi Alliance and is their second-in-command after a string of events, and is no longer a part of the Tojo Clan.

Kasuga-san joins forces with Adachi-san after he further informs him of what went down during his time away in prison, and that if Kasuga-san is still insistent on seeing Arakawa-san, they can go see him later that night because Arakawa-san was calling a meeting for local officers to meet Omi officers. Along the way, Kasuga-san also gets to meet and face his old captain, Jo Sawashiro, and once through with him, he steps into the room in the middle of the meeting. On asking why he did it (defecting to Omi), Arakawa-san stands up, tells him he’s sorry, and shoots him. By some miracle, he survives, only for him to show up in Yokohama, in a homeless shelter being treated by his new companion, Nanba-san, an ex-nurse, now a homeless person at the shelter.

Ending here for now, and I cannot wait to get started with another set of writing detailing the adventure in Yokohama.
