#GhostSec Update: What’s New With #OpISIS, #CtrlSec, #OpBeast, #BinarySec, #BanCAIR & More

Twitter Suspensions

In addition to the #FreeStacy suspensions, Twitter seems to have a bee in its bonnet over the actions of #OpISIS operatives who counter ISIS on Twitter. Lately, many of those operatives have had their Twitter accounts suspended. Twitter has claimed it is engaged in efforts to shut down terrorist accounts, but those working #OpISIS beg to differ. They say that not only is Twitter not being aggressive enough in taking down terror accounts, the company has been shutting down the accounts of users who report terror accounts to Twitter.

According to The Epoch Times:

“Facing bad press and a lawsuit, Twitter published a blog post on Feb. 5, saying that since mid-2015 it suspended 125,000 accounts for ‘threatening or promoting terrorist acts, primarily related to ISIS.’
Members of the online anti-terrorist community were quick to fire back, however. They say that Twitter is taking credit for their work, and there are still many holes in its efforts to keep terrorist recruiters off its services.
Several hacker groups, including Anonymous, have rallied against ISIS under an online campaign they call #OpISIS. While most participants keep their identities hidden, most of their activities are public. They often publish lists of ISIS supporters and recruiters, and call on the community to report the accounts.”

“GhostSec was credited with helping prevent a terrorist attack in Tunisia, and may have helped stop another attack in New York City in 2015, according to Michael Smith, principal of national security company Kronos Advisory. Smith was GhostSec’s go-between for law enforcement and intelligence officials.”

@WauchulaGhost, who has become a thorn in Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey’s side, is one of many who took umbrage with Twitter’s claim of suspending 125,000 accounts: “You do realize if we all stopped reporting terrorist accounts and graphic images, Twitter would be flooded with terrorists,” he said. Silencing #Time4Jihad

Jihadis and their supporters on Twitter have issued a call to jihad, using the hashtag #Time4Jihad.” @CtrlSec, however, launched a campaign to counter the #Time4Jihad movement. And, hacktivists have heeded that call. View the thread.

#TrollISIS

@WauchulaGhost announced the second official #TrollISIS day, which will take place on March 11:

#BanCAIR — CAIR & Muslim Brotherhood May Soon Be Designated as Terrorist Groups in the U.S.

Several days ago, GhostSec tweeted about a congressional bill to designate the Muslim Brotherhood as terrorist organization. It passed the House Judiciary Committee on Wednesday, February 25. The bill identifies three Brotherhood entities in the U.S. including the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR).

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has already designated CAIR, “the Muslim American Society (MAS) and other Islamist organizations as terrorist groups. Senior UAE officials have responded to the criticism by restating that CAIR, MAS and other Muslim groups in the West are linked to the Muslim Brotherhood, promote extremism, and incite and finance terrorism.”
