Pokiri — Ten astounding years

A movie that catapulted Mahesh’s stardom into multi folds and a movie that’s a landmark for him and TFI turns ten today, every time I watch this five minute sequence, I still get the same goose bumps that I got when I watched it for the first time.

The movie had such a resounding success at the box office, it made the entire nation to turn it's head and take a note of TFI. It was remade in almost all the 'woods' but nothing came as close as the original.

Mahesh's intense acting,Puri's catchy one liners , Mani sharma's thumping background score...almost everything fell perfectly in place, and then that unpredicted and unprecedented twist in the pre-climax...whao....it was one hell of a ride to sit through this movie.

The things that happened on the release day, the struggle to get the tickets and then the 'thought of the day' lecture we received from our sir on the next day in the college will forever be etched in my memory.
