The GBX team made their way to the London Olympia for the Blockchain Expo Global 2018, a two-day event attended by more than 6,000 individuals. Two full days of pitches and presentations, surrounded by a large selection of stands, from a whole range of innovative blockchain based companies, created a vibrant and energetic atmosphere.

As sponsors of the expo event, the GBX had a full stand from across a packed out stage focused on startups. Once again, it’s an incredible feeling to receive such an overwhelmingly positive response from attendees, with many of the pitching startups engaging with the team about what possible solutions the GBX ecosystem could provide.

We spoke with interested token sale projects and potential Sponsor Firm applicants on our aim to bring about a new era in token sales. Many agreed that a greater regulatory environment and institutional-grade projects such as the GBX are vital in gaining more mainstream adoption and higher standards across this emerging industry.

With the launch of the GBX Grid, our token launch centre and our growing Sponsor Firm network, the event was a great opportunity to update attendees on our progress to date, many of whom have been keeping up-to-date with our latest developments. With our Sponsor Firm network in place, we were able to direct potential token issuers to begin preliminary discussions with the Sponsor Firms about the potential to launch their respective token sales through the Grid.

With regular developments rolled out on the GBX, we are able to offer more potential solutions to the crypto-community at every event we attend. As with many blockchain conferences, the GBX brings discussion on Gibraltar as a leading jurisdiction in the blockchain industry. As Gibraltar’s reputation grows, more of the crypto-community embraces the Rock as a hub for blockchain innovation.

Philip Young, Marketing Director of GSX Group and Daniel Evans, Senior Manager at the Gibraltar Stock Exchange, gave a presentation on the second day of the event. A crowd gathered to listen in on how the GBX embeds good governance, transparency and best practices within a rules-based system in our token sale platform and our future cryptocurrency exchange.

The talk focused on the launch of the GBX Grid and specifically the vital role Sponsor Firms play in the rigorous listing process. This was coupled with an emphasis on the GBX helping to mitigate risk for token issuers, and participants, by allowing the GBX to handle the collection and distribution of tokens during a sale, allowing issuers to spend more time and resources on their project and community development.

Philip Young stated: “It’s encouraging to see and hear such a vibrant and energetic interest in Gibraltar as a jurisdiction, and in the GBX as an institutional-grade token sale platform and cryptocurrency exchange. The general consensus from the attendees that we continue to speak to at these events is clear, a higher-standard is needed in the community and we want to help drive that movement forward.”

Another successful event in London for the GBX team, raising the profile of Gibraltar and the full service of solutions we can offer through our comprehensive ecosystem. The team will be attending the next event by Blockchain Expo Global in Amsterdam on the 27–28th June. If you’re planning to attend, make sure you let us know!

We would like to thank all the attendees, event organisers and our fellow ROCKers.
