ETH/USD AND RKT/ETH FIXED RATE UPDATE
While the price of RKT is fixed at US$0.10 per RKT, the payment for RKT in our token sale is in ETH. On 5th February we announced that the individual cap was US$614.68 or 6,146.80 RKT per person. On 6th February we announced that the fixed price of ETH/USD was US$715.69, which was significantly higher than the price at that point in time of US$614.44.
We also noted in our announcement yesterday, that we firmly maintained our belief in the applications of blockchain technology and the cryptocurrency market in general, despite the recent sharp decline in prices. Since our announcement, we noticed that the ETH price has risen sharply. Hence, we have decided to revise our price fix as a sign of our gratitude to you, our community, for supporting the GBX project and RKT.
We decided therefore that instead of fixing the price which was based on a specific point of time — 6th February 12:00:00(UTC) — we will use an average of the Daily Close Price of ETH/USD price over the past 3 days.
The method we have used takes the average of the Daily Close Prices from https://coinmarketcap.com for the dates of 4th February to 6th February (in UTC time). The illustration is as follows:
Daily Close Price at 4th February: US$834.68
Daily Close Price at 5th February: US$697.95
Daily Close Price at 6th February: US$793.12
Therefore, the average of these 3 prices is: (834.68 + 697.95 + 793.12) / 3 = US$775.30
ETH/USD fixed price is US$775.30 per ETH
RKT/USD fixed price is US$0.10 per RKT
RKT/ETH fixed price is therefore US$775.30 x 10 = 7753 RKT per ETH
This means an individual cap per person of US$614.68 = 614.68 / 775.30 = 0.793 ETH
The minimum per person of US$100 = 100/775.30 = 0.129 ETH
Please note that the number of Rock Tokens you will receive for the same amount of ETH contributed has increased, and the same individual caps per person, based in USD is still the same. The only difference is that each person can now use less ETH to contribute and yet receive the same amount of RKT in return, as the total sale now receives less total ETH for the company. For example, if you had used US$614.68 to acquire 0.859 ETH yesterday, you will only need to use 0.793 ETH to participate at our maximum individual cap, and still have ETH leftover for yourself.
The same rate will be applied on the RKT Sale to be launched 8th February, 12:00 (UTC) on QRYPTOS operated by QUOINE, a licensed cryptocurrency exchange by Japan FSA (https://qryptos.com).
