How Blab Broke My Heart And Why I’m Leaving The Platform

The CEO of Blab about 2 weeks ago addressed Blab users in a Blab that they were no longer interested in supporting “shows” and that Blab was a conversation platform. They also revealed a somewhat secret project they had been working on which was a seperate iOS app designed for communication between 14–25 year olds. It’s all very confusing and hard to understand. Especially when you consider what many of us who have been Beta testers for hardware/ software have understood BETA to mean. I simply can’t wrap my head around any of what Blab has done. ASnd I have spent time with them. I live 20 minutes from thier SF office and have been there numerous times. It is what it is. For now, I hang out on Blab and join in discussions. This may or may not continue, as other platforms are available and continue to develop, including Firetalk, Appear.in, Zoom.us, TapCast, as well as changes coming to FB Live, YouTube Live, FB Messenger, twitter and Amazon that may mean multiple real time communications (like Blab) that might work better for live “shows”. And of course, we can only speculate what Blab might be in a year or two. Sean, I am reminded by your and other stories regarding issues with Blab that “you can often tell the pioneers becuase they’re the ones with the arrows in their backs.”
