Gilga P-Rep Campaign: Benefits of Launching an ICX_Station in Toronto

Ethereum, AION, Decentral, SecureKey, Coinsquare, Paycase, and HIVE all have one thing in common — Toronto.

No matter how you look at it, Canada is a powerhouse for global blockchain development. Even companies like Tendermint, the team behind Cosmos, and ConsenSys — a company focussed on Ethereum blockchain solutions, have their roots in Canada with Ethan Buchman and Joseph Lubin hailing from Toronto.

Over time, Gilga has spent considerable efforts in building connections with the most influential people and groups in the space and is prepared and enthusiastic to work with these individuals in advancing ICON through launching a Toronto ICX_Station if elected as a P-Rep candidate. Having connections at the Blockchain Research Institute, major banks, Blockchain for Impact organization (presented to the United Nations), major universities responsible for top talent (University of Waterloo- Vitalik Buterin), and access to the top projects (AION, for example) positions us well to service the ICON Network in the best way possible.

One of the most important things for a blockchain network is to focus on business development. With subpar projects over-saturating the space, getting a project’s name out there is vital to its success. The benefit of an ICX_Station, as already proven and tested in San Francisco, Seoul, and Tokyo, is that it helps to accomplish this and more. With Toronto being one of the biggest Blockchain development hubs in the world, Canadian representation with a Toronto ICX_Station will undoubtedly help grow the ICON ecosystem.

Not only does it act as a conduit on-boarding developers and community members, but it also goes a long way to supporting enterprise integration and adoption. As ICONists, we all know why the ICON network is superior technically, but as a community, we need to do a better job in communicating these benefits in a way that businesses and individuals can understand. The ICX_Station would be a perfect way to market ICON, attract talent, grow the ecosystem, and entice enterprise adoption.
