never dumb it down, make them come up and get it

I always tell people I was born in the wrong decade, I was born in ‘87 but I really should’ve been born in ‘77 or maybe even ’67.

I enjoy going to the library, watching documentaries and listening to podcasts. I hate individual lashes, The Shade Room and Cardi B. This is no shade to anybody who enjoys these things I respect everyone, it’s just that the woman I am now is unimpressed by 95% of things most millennials live for. For a long time I never really shared my interest with others because I figured they wouldn’t get it or they would think I was weird or corny. Lately IDGAF! I’m unapologetic about who I am and what I like, and you know what? Some people admire that, it inspires them to try different things..to break out of their norm. The ones that don’t respect it are just not my people — and that’s OK!

At the end of the day I’m still a 30 year old woman living in 2017. I’m tuned into Power and Insecure every Sunday, I exchange memes with my friends in group texts and I know all the words to every song on Lemonade; but I can also pray for you and help you strategize how to flip your coins! I just prefer to focus my time and energy on things that grow me and not BS that kills my brain cells!
