If you think that a good way to gauge someone’s intelligence is who they voted for then that could be problematic. With the last election I don’t judge anyone as much as I judge whether people understood how bad of a choice it was either way. If the choices are AIDs or cancer I can’t really fault someone if they picked one or the other because of whatever difference exists on the margin. I would only find it problematic if a person thought AIDs or cancer were a good thing.
With my own imperfect family(which is everyone’s family) I have found the best path is to accept people for who they are and not who you want them to be. There are going to be things that you disagree with with everyone. That is part of what makes people both interesting and frustrating at times. Finding what you agree and share with them brings you together.
