Maybe they tell you to get over it because you seem to ignore the basic facts of everyday life. That women are treated very well by society as a whole. Individual women facing harassment and even abuse doesn’t change that. Men face those things too though it can look differently. The fact that you can find stories of abuse shouldn’t be surprising in a nation of 300+ million people. The fact that those stories are public is a sign of how things are getting better rather than how bad they are. The abuse used to be kept hidden under a rug.

The way you victimize your self in regards to the outcome of the election has more to say about you and what you projected onto the two candidates than on anything in reality. Women didn’t lose because Trump won or because the wife of a former President who enabled her husband’s misogynistic behavior lost. The election of either one was going to be an embarrassment. The story I would have to tell my own daughter of either one is uncomfortable. Women are in a good place today though if they turn themselves into the victims of some politician they have never met they can get in their own way. Be a good example to your own daughter and don’t allow that to happen. That thought should never even cross your mind.
