There is zero evidence that you wouldn’t be covered under whatever the Republican healthcare bill ends up being. Part of the reason healthcare services are so expensive is that the consumer on average only pays 10 cents out of every dollar. There is no real gain in that. My family’s health insurance premium are around $15,000 per year. Without the insurance we would have more out of pocket costs for sure, but also $15,000 extra.
You cite the tens of millions that would allegedly not have health insurance under the Republican plan. Those projections are based on the number of people that they assume would voluntarily choose not to buy health insurance that would if there was a mandate in place. Claiming that is a terrible thing is claiming that you know what is best for them in the choices that they make. Are we a free nation or not? Being free means having the ability to make decisions for ourselves. Some of those decisions may help us and some may harm us.
